In October, Prof.Zuo Biao, the director of Translators Association of China, who used to give a lecture about Confucianism on the” Overseas Chinese Forum” organized by the Capitol in Queensland of Australia., gave a lecture entitled “Classics translation and the traditional culture” at SFL.

 The lecture was organized by School of Foreign Languages, and hosted by Professor Chen Jiaxu, dean of School of Foreign Languages.

After Prof. Chen’s vivid introduction to Prof. Zuo, Prof. Zuo started his speech with the importance of classics translation, then he looked back upon the history of classics translation, and illustrated the strategies of classics translation with many lively examples.

Towards the end of the lecture, Prof.Zuo also held talks with SFL teachers, the participants said they expected more lectures given by Prof. Zuo in the future.
