On the afternoon of October 30th, Professor Fu Jingmin, the executive editor-in-chief of Shanghai Journal of Translators and a doctoral tutor at the School of Foreign Languages of Shanghai University, was invited to give us an academic lectureTranslation Teaching and Translation Norm Consciousness. Party branch secretary Li Xiaojing delivered a welcome speech, and relevant teachers of the college attended.


Professor Fu Jingmin first explained the basic requirements for MTI, the awareness of translation norms, and analyzed the functions and types of translation norms as well as the related issues of research. Professor Fu emphasized that the new era has put forward new requirements for translation capabilities. It is an important content to cultivate the awareness of translation standards in translation teaching. Translation standards should be included in the translation teaching curriculum system; at the same time, the awareness of problems should be established to keep up with the pace of the times In the process of teaching. It is necessary to pay attention to the integration of curriculum ideology and politics; in the field of translation practice, it is also necessary to implement translation norms throughout the translation process, which not only has important theoretical significance, but also reflects strong application value.

 

In the subsequent communication sessions, the teachers who participated in this lecture successively discussed the methods of teaching translation technology knowledge and skills, the standard issues that should be paid attention to in Chinese academic foreign translation, and the application of computer-assisted translation software in translation practiceand Carried out in-depth exchanges with Professor Fu on hot issues.

 

This lecture has played a positive role in guiding the teachers of our college to establish translation norms in translation teaching and translation practice, and provided an important reference for the future development of the college's applied technology translation.
