Han Siyu, a sophomore from school of foreign languages, was born in Xinmi City, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. The heavy rainstorm city caused severe loss to her city. However, everyone united and worked together as one to carry out rescue work and rebuild their homes at once after the disaster.
When the Xinmi Red Cross recruited volunteers for the society, being aware of her responsibility as a member of the Communist Youth League and a Party activist, Han Siyu registered and participated in the work enthusiastically. And she took part in the volunteer activity of assisting in the carrying and arranging of disaster-relief materials on the evening of July 22. The water, instant noodles, ham sausage, and other aid materials that she participated in the transportation were more than 4000 pieces.
For her volunteer work, Han Siyu said that the rainstorm has no emotion but people do. Everyone united and worked as one so that the aid materials can be in place rapidly and the whole city can resume operation in time. And it’s a point of pride to contribute to the disaster relief work as a young volunteer. “I will continue to participate in the volunteer activities then and devote my part to post-disaster reconstruction!” Han Siyu said. The flood has no mercy. But with the care of the Party and government and help from all works of life, we hope the people of Henan can pull through the difficulty hand in hand.
