On November 23, the School of Foreign Languages held the 2022 annual conference on school enterprise cooperative education and teaching through Tencent Meeting. Representatives of six companies, including Shanghai Huazhiyi Information Technology Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yingtong Translation Service Co.,Ltd, Shanghai Yiguoyimin Translation Service Co., Ltd., Zhongyiyutong Information Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Wence Translation Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Yizhe Information Technology Co., Ltd., were invited to attend the meeting. Pan Zhidan, the dean of SFL, Sun Zhiqing, the associate dean, and the directors of various departments attended the meeting. Sun presided over the conference.

    First of all, Pan delivered a welcome speech to the representatives of the enterprises participating in the conference, introducing the development history of the school and the college, and the training objectives of the SFL for applied translation talents, hoping to cultivate talents and explore the development mode of integration of industry and education with language service enterprises to achieve a win-win situation.

    Sun introduced the faculty structure of the SFL, the curriculum of translation courses, the construction of translation teachers, and the cooperation vision of the enterprise. Focusing on the curriculum construction, practice and graduation design, she analyzed the cooperation points with enterprises, and hoped that the participating enterprises could participate more in the curriculum construction of teaching, so as to provide more opportunities for students to practice.

    The leaders of each enterprise introduced the experience of cooperation with colleges and universities, including the practice of interpretation and translation, vocational skills and literacy training, various translation competitions, customized courses and school-based internships, visits to enterprises and study tours, and joint construction of courses, hoping to strengthen cooperation with schools in the above aspects. At the same time, the person in charge of the enterprise also spoke highly of the performance of our students in various interpretation activities such as the Expo and the Shanghai Film Festival. The students not only have good translation skills, but also show a high sense of responsibility and cooperation. I hope that more students will participate in the real projects and practices of the enterprise in the future.

    Finally, all the heads of departments had in-depth exchanges with enterprise representatives on practical teaching, combination of courses and projects, corpus construction, etc.
