The School of Foreign Languages (SFL) welcomed a delegation from the University of Aberdeen, led by Dr. Zhu Zhu, Head of International Affairs for its School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture, on May 29. The visit, aimed at enhancing international ties, included meetings with SFL Dean Pan Zhidan and Chen Qingchang, Director of the Office of International Exchange.

In the meeting, Dean Pan Zhidan introduced SFL's history and academic features. Dr. Zhu Zhu provided an overview of Aberdeen's undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Both sides explored potential collaboration in faculty and student exchanges, curriculum alignment, and credit transfer. They agreed to work towards a substantive cooperation framework.
Dr. Zhu Zhu also delivered a lecture titled "The Humanistic Dimension in Translation: Navigating Context and Meaning in the Age of AI." She discussed the enduring role of human insight in translation, emphasizing the importance of contextual and cultural understanding even in an era of advanced technology. The lecture was well received by faculty and students.
