On November 19th, a team of experts from the Undergraduate Education Teaching Evaluation Committee visited the School of Foreign Languages for an on-site inspection and evaluation. The entire leadership team of the school, directors of teaching and research offices, representative professors, and core faculty members attended the symposium.

Pan Zhidan, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to the expert team for their guidance and provided a detailed report on the undergraduate education and teaching work of the school. The report covered various aspects such as the school's talent cultivation goals, major construction, teaching reform, industry-education integration, course-based ideological and political education, faculty team, and student training. It fully demonstrated the distinctive features and strengths of the School of Foreign Languages in undergraduate education and teaching, comprehensively reported the achievements of teaching reform, and frankly pointed out the existing deficiencies, expressing a proactive approach to improvement.
After the report, the expert team engaged in in-depth and meticulous questioning and exchanges to gain a better understanding of the quality of undergraduate education and teaching at the school, aiming to provide valuable suggestions and guidance. The dean, the Party Committee Secretary, vice deans, and relevant faculty members responded to the questions from the expert team and also reported on the specific practices and experiences in undergraduate education and teaching. The evaluation experts fully affirmed the efforts and achievements made by the School of Foreign Languages in undergraduate education and teaching, and emphasized the importance of timely addressing issues that arise during development. The experts pointed out that the school should strengthen faculty construction in line with the needs of the times and the development of the school, focus on consolidating students’ practical application abilities, and further build a comprehensive course-based ideological and political education system to promote “broad ideological and political education,” contributing to the high-quality development and talent cultivation of the school.
The on-site inspection by the Undergraduate Education Teaching Evaluation Committee is not only a comprehensive examination of the undergraduate education and teaching work of the School of Foreign Languages but also a full-scale on-site guidance and strong impetus. It is believed that with the guidance and assistance of the expert team, the School of Foreign Languages will continue to summarize experiences, continuously improve the quality and level of undergraduate education and teaching, and make greater contributions to cultivating more high-level applied and innovative talents with an international perspective and cross-cultural communication skills.
